Since 1998, Suffolk's Organization for Uplifting Lives through Service (S.O.U.L.S.) has sponsored an Alternative Spring Break (ASB) program offering students the opportunity to spend their a week off working on service projects in cities across the United States, and sometimes beyond.

Where did the time go?
I can’t believe ASB is over. What an amazing experience! I had the time of my life bonding with students who I never would have had the chance to meet if it wasn’t for ASB. Although, ASB is over, the bond I made with the students on the trip will never be forgotten!
